There's nothing high-brow about this one; two guys in a garage on lawn chairs, clapping to the music as a monkey dances on a paint bucket. E*Trade made no qualms about the wastefulness of the spot, but its effectiveness was just as prevalent. Most of America had a single reaction, which was that E*Trade threw their ad money down the toilet. However, word of mouth about the off-kilter spot is exactly what E*Trade wanted and received.
